Yeah, it’s 2021 and the world is not yet back to business as usual.

While things are not exactly going as planned and we have to cancel our Summer Program Legal Tech­nology and Opera­tions again in 2021, this time we know that this will not be the end of the story.

When we intro­duced Bucerius Legal Tech Essentials in 2020, we were over­whelmed by how many great lecturers and students (5000+) decided to join us. Not only was it the largest program Bucerius Law School ever created, it was also incredi­bly in­tense, fun and en­gaging.

It should come as no sur­prise that we are going for a ver­sion 2.0 in 2021. The program’s core re­mains the same: a free on­line edu­cational ex­pe­rience with many of the lec­turers that would nor­mally be on our campus.

During the month of May, we are going to host inspi­rational presen­tations from some of the world's leading legal tech­nology and opera­tions ex­perts on week­days at noon U.S. Central Time (that's 7:00 p.m. CEST). We promise 60–90 minutes of in­sights and Q&A.

This is also the next ite­ration and we are building on the ex­perience from 2020. That means the program is slightly shorter, we introduce a fair share of completely new lecturers and we will make record­ings available for a limited time from the start.

How do I sign up?
Just use the sign-up form at the top of the page. Signing up is free.
How does this work?
You can sign up for our lecture series. All lectures will be made available via Zoom Webinar. You will receive a weekly schedule by email and an email reminder one hour before each webinar.
Will I get a degree/a certificate?

There is no degree or academic certificate for attending Legal Tech Essentials, as this is a lecture series and not an academic program and there is no final exam. However, this year, we will offer a PDF Attendance Record through our executive education branch, Bucerius Education GmbH, for those of you who need it (e.g. to submit for CLE credits). Please note that the attendance record will be provided at the price of EUR 175 to offset the costs involved. It will be issued only after the program has ended. To be able to track attendance it is of vital importance that you use the same email address for all Zoom meetings and when purchasing the attendance record. We cannot guarantee any form of recognition by your bar association/similar for CLE credits. You can purchase the attendance record here.

Do I need books or additional materials?
No. If you want to get a taste, check out our intro session and our playlist of Legal Technology Lectures at Bucerius Law School.
Do I need to attend all lectures?
No. You can pick and choose. We will upload a schedule here, email you a weekly schedule update and you will get a reminder 1 hour before each lecture.
Will there be recordings of the sessions?
Recordings for most sessions will be available to participants for the duration of the program. For each session, it is up to the individual lecturer if they want their talk to be recorded. As the recordings need to be edited and we want to encourage live participation, recordings will be available with a delay of one week.
